MHA Launches Person and Family Engagement Advisory Council
Posted on April 18, 2018
As part of the MHA’s commitment to strengthening the collaboration among patients, families and clinicians to deliver the highest quality care in Michigan, the association has formally added under its umbrella a member council that will promote and accelerate person and family engagement in Michigan hospitals.
The Person & Family Engagement Advisory Council (PFEAC) will seek input from patient and family partners, serve as advocates for their needs, and ensure their voice is incorporated into MHA quality and safety initiatives.
The council will meet on a quarterly basis and consist of patient and family advisors, hospital representatives and MHA staff who are dedicated to advancing and promoting principles of person- and family-centered care across Michigan.
Engaging patients and families is critical to the improvement of patient safety and quality of care. Working together, particularly through person and family engagement initiatives, creates meaningful partnerships and leads to better patient outcomes and employee satisfaction.
Representatives from MHA-member hospitals who wish to serve on the MHA PFEAC should complete the Request-to-Serve Nomination form by May 25.
Members with questions may contact the Andrea Duguay at the MHA.
