MHA Media Statement: MHA Applauds Governor’s Executive Budget Proposal

Posted on February 07, 2018

The following statement can be attributed to Brian Peters, CEO at the MHA.

The Michigan Health & Hospital Association applauds Gov. Snyder for his continued support of improved healthcare across Michigan, as evidenced by today’s Executive Budget Proposal. The governor’s budget will help make sure that Michiganders, especially in rural areas, will continue to have access to high-quality care, obstetrics providers and more. We are also pleased that the proposal fully supports the state’s graduate medical education program, which ensures doctors get the training they need and can continue serving some of the most high-risk patients in our state. Lastly, we fully support the continued state funding of the Healthy Michigan Plan, an innovative solution to providing comprehensive coverage to 673,000 of our lower income neighbors and friends. The MHA urges the Legislature to support the governor’s funding recommendations as it begins its own work on the state budget.
