Citizens Research Council of Michigan: Taking the Pulse of Michigan Under the Affordable Care Act

The Michigan Health & Hospital Association participated in a panel on the impact of the Affordable Care Act in Michigan on Dec. 5. The panel was convened by the Citizens Research Council of Michigan, MIRS News, and the Michigan State Chamber Foundation. 

Laura Appel, the MHA’s senior vice president and chief innovation officer, was among the panelists, and talked about the positive impact the ACA has had in Michigan. Lawmakers in Washington DC have debated repealing and replacing the ACA throughout the year, and the panelists agreed that they would “rather work to improve what’s already in place than start over from scratch.”
