New MHA Podcast Episode Covers Advocacy in Healthcare
Posted on November 17, 2017
The latest episode of the MiCare Champion podcast series shares the experiences of healthcare advocates and advice for those who are interested in getting involved in healthcare policy issues on the state and federal levels.
The episode features interviews with Kate Steele, an auto accident survivor and advocate; Stephanie Helton, who leads communications and grassroots advocacy at Trinity Health, Livonia; and Rep. Daniela Garcia (R-Holland). It is available to listen to via SoundCloud, iTunes and many other podcast apps
The podcast is part of the statewide #MiCareMatters campaign, launched earlier this year, which aims to build a network of citizens — “MiCare Champions” — who will be called upon to engage in advocacy efforts to protect access to affordable healthcare services in Michigan.
Episodes released to date have covered topics including health equity, auto no-fault insurance, the Affordable Care Act, and more. New episodes are released every two weeks.
