MHA Webinar Reviews Patient Restraint Requirements

Posted on November 02, 2017

The use of restraints in healthcare is not a panacea and can prevent significant risks to the patient. While situations sometime require restraints, their use is controversial and highly regulated. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and The Joint Commission closely monitor appropriate use of restraints and the documentation of patient care while restrained. The MHA Health Foundation webinar Patient Restraint and Seclusion: Navigating the Most Problematic CMS Standards will review types of education tools that will adequately educate hospital and health system staff on restraint use and documentation.Featured in Monday Report. The webinar is scheduled from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 12, and MHA members can register for a connection fee of $195. Members with questions should contact Erica Leyko at the MHA.
