The Illinois Health and Hospital Association, in conjunction with the American Institutes for Research, is hosting a full-day learning session, Creating and Sustaining a Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) to Improve Patient Safety and Enhance Quality Improvement on Feb. 7.
The workshop will focus on furthering patient and family engagement (PFE) to enhance quality improvement initiatives and better integrate the Board and C-suite into PFE work. The workshop is available virtually and will be split into two sessions. 
Morning Session
  • Building a foundation
  • Building a patient and family advisory council (PFAC) by recruiting and selecting advisors
  • Building the infrastructure of your council
  • Advancing your PFAC to drive improvement
 Afternoon Session
  • Evaluating and sustaining your PFAC
  • Building on Metric 4 to achieve Metric 5
  • Developing your action steps and commitment to progress
 The workshop is free to all HIIN hospitals. Whether you are just starting your PFAC journey or already have an established council but need help keeping up the momentum, we encourage you to register and attend one or both of the sessions. We also suggest that you bring your PFAC teams to engage in the workshop.
