The MHA Keystone Center will be hosting a free safety session on ventilator-associated events and appropriate ventilator management, in conjunction with the Illinois Health and Hospital Association (IHA) and the Midwest Alliance for Patient Safety.
The event will take place Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. EDT at the MHA headquarters, Okemos.
The session is designed to help multidisciplinary teams, specifically infection control and intensive care unit (ICU) staff, respiratory therapists and quality leaders, learn how to collaborate to reduce ventilator-related harm. The event will share patient safety experiences, discuss best practices, and discuss how to improve care related to ventilator management.
The IHA is authorized to award up to 4.75 hours of nurse continuing education credit for this program.
Lastly, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid prohibits the provision of food and beverages at Hospital Improvement Innovation events. Please feel free to bring beverages and a snack with you. Lunch will be on your own.
