Studies have shown that patient safety and quality are improved when a patient is engaged with the care they receive; however, patients and caregivers have their own experiences, preferences and values that make it difficult to build trust and confidence. A positive patient experience between patient and provider must include an understanding of expectations.
The MHA Health Foundation webinar “Perspective is Everything: Three Strategies to Create a Highly Reliable Patient Experience” will review:
- Fundamental strategies to strengthen leadership, patient and family partnerships, and staff engagement.
- Deep cultural change that must take place in multiple aspects of hospital operations to successfully apply patient and family engagement.
- Several approaches to using patient experience tactics to improve overall community health.
- Tools and approaches for measuring patient and family engagement, including data measures that provide demonstrable patient experience outcomes.
