The Legal Landscape of Service and Assistance Animals

Thursday, May 16, 2019 @ 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Whether it comes from an employee or a member of the public, a request to bring an animal into a hospital often catches people off guard and leaves them unsure of how to respond. In addition to explaining the various laws at play when it comes to bringing animals into a hospital, the MHA Health Foundation webinar The Legal Landscape of Service and Assistance Animals will review:

  • The difference between an “assistance animal” and a “service animal.”
  • Coverage of Title I, Title II and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Recent legal cases related to requests for animals in the workplace, including hospitals.
  • Developing a process for managing requests for animals in a hospital.
