Education, Networking with Healthcare Peers
The MHA hosts events throughout the year to discuss trends that will impact hospitals and health systems and tackle the challenges that are affecting providers’ ability to provide vital services to their communities. The forums are for member organizations only and are offered free of charge.
The 2018 forums will include an outline of the MHA all-payer strategy, including a visioning session with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) and MHA Board of Trustees leadership; the status of the BCBSM Participating Hospital Agreement model contract language; efforts with the Michigan Association of Health Plans to identify administrative improvements to promote efficiency, accuracy of reporting and furtherance of population health; and the Medicaid managed care payment process and first-quarter payments. The MHA leadership team will also review the new MHA public transparency website and activities of the MHA Price Transparency Task Force, including direction on how patients, communities and providers can use healthcare price transparency to guide decisions.
Members may register for one of the following forums online, or by contacting us below.
Member Forum on Workplace Safety
The MHA will also host a workplace safety member forum in 2018. Participants will hear about the active shooter incident that occurred last fall at Covenant HealthCare, how the Covenant employees were prepared, and what the safety team learned post-incident that can only be discovered through a real situation. Following the case study, experts in risk management and security will outline activities the executive team must perform to effectively assess risk, mitigate threats, communicate, and train employees.
