About the MHA
The Michigan Health & Hospital
Association (MHA) is the statewide leader representing all of the
community hospitals in Michigan. Established in 1919, the MHA
represents the interests of its member hospitals and health systems
in both the legislative and regulatory arenas on key issues and
supports their efforts to provide quality, cost-effective and
accessible care.
- Mission: We advocate for
hospitals and the patients they serve.
- Vision: We are committed
to becoming the most effective healthcare advocate in Michigan.
In that role, we will promote better health within our
communities; improve the quality of patient care; and improve
coverage for high-quality, affordable healthcare services for
all Michiganians.
What MHA Stands For
The MHA continually provides a strategic assessment of emerging healthcare trends to help its members develop a framework to meet current and future needs of their communities. The association's strategic plan is divided into five "platforms," including Patient Access, Quality of Care, Community Health Improvement, Mission-driven Funding and Best Information.
