MHA Statement on Resumption of Nonessential Medical Services

Posted on May 21, 2020

The following statement can be attributed to Brian Peters, CEO of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association.

MHA CEO Brian PetersToday’s decision by Gov. Whitmer to rescind Executive Order 2020-17, effective May 29, is a positive step for the health and wellness of residents and communities across Michigan. We thank the governor for her continued support and leadership throughout this pandemic and for recognizing that hospitals have the appropriate supplies and capacity to resume nonessential medical services. Our member hospitals and health systems will continue to ensure that services offered adhere to strong safety, infection control and other COVID-19-related precautions. Hospitals are safe; please don’t delay care of any kind.
